Guided Intelligence Analytical Server
How does this work?
The Guided Intelligence Analytical
Server (GIA Server) is an onDemand
Business Intelligence (BI) framework built using
a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Key elements of the
architecture include a Data Extraction Engine (ETL), an Operational
Data Store (ODS), an Analytical Reporting Engine (OLAP), and
a Dashboard with Monitor and Alert System, all integrated
with Web Services.
The GIA Server
includes the following components:
- XML Integration Server
- ETL Engine (Extract, Transform, Load)
- Operational Data Store
- OLAP Engine
- Report Engine
- Alert and Monitor Engine
- Management Dashboard

Advantages
- The GIA Server
offers real-time enterprise-wide multidimensional analysis
with easy-to-use intuitive tools that empower decision makers,
with push-button simplicity whenever they require it. The
GIA Server
can be deployed as a virtual Data Warehousing and Mining
solution that can be accessed via an affordable subscription
through using the Guided Intelligence
ASP, or custom implemented in-house on your
own Servers.
- This is the first implementation of BI technology in an
onDemand model. Guided Intelligence
has also incorporated industry specific pre-defined analytical
views into the GIA Server,
developed along with and by subject matter experts.
- The primary advantage of the GIA
Server is the integration of the key elements
required for a BI implementation with web services to integrate
all the components in a consistent framework. All this means
that a complex BI deployment has been offered seamlessly
and completely virtually over the web with no human interaction
required.
- Offering the solution onDemand (as an ASP)
gives the user the option of paying by the transaction,
or signing up for monthly, quarterly or annual subscriptions.
- This allows for an effective means to introduce BI
to the mid-range market, for whom the costs, resource
requirements and time-to-market concerns usually makes
such solutions cost prohibitive.
- This presents small and midsized businesses an opportunity
to afford and use advanced technologies to get critical
insight into their business, in order to better manage,
grow and compete in the marketplace.
- It can incorporate and integrate existing systems,
data and environments into the framework, allowing for
legacy transition in a phased manner.
Innovative components:
Cube-on-Demand™
web service allowing onDemand BI. A user can submit data and
return multidimensional data cubes with a warehouse of detailed
and aggregated information in an ad-hoc manner, over the Internet,
without any requirement for manual intervention.
Web ETL processing
allows for submission of data over the web that is automatically
transformed into pre-configured source data files as part
of the Cube-on-Demand process. In any BI project, ETL usually
comprises a major portion of the work required to implement
a BI Solution, as it deals with disparate data. This automates
that process overcoming many of the hurdles to rapid deployment.
XBRL Mapping and Publishing.
As a part of the Web-ETL process, Guided Intelligence has
implemented the ability to receive data as XBRL Instance Documents
and automatically map them into OLAP Applications (or any
other of the GIA Server applications). XBRL is the emerging
standard for exchanging financial data between trading partners.
Guided Intelligence will also soon be releasing a process
to automate the transformation of existing financial statement
data into XBRL Instance Documents, offering the first fully
automated XBRL tagging Engine.
